Pastor of Mary the Queen Catholic Church, Arue-Uromi, Esan North East Local Government Area, Edo State, Nigeria, Very Rev. Fr. Hilary Odenore, has called for prayers for the eternal repose of the souls of the six kids who were crushed to death by a speeding vehicle with a LEARNER sign, on Friday, January 16, 2021.
Five of the six kids, identified as Marvelous, Harrison, Osemu, Jude, Emmanuel and Good luck, were ardent parishioners and very regular Sunday School members of Mary the Queen Catholic Church, Arue.
SAGA TV reports that the children, four girls and two boys, were playing football in front of their house, when an approaching Mercedes Benz car, in an attempt to dodge a pothole, lost control, veered off the road and killed them on the spot.
The incident provoked anger as residents of the community immediately blocked the road and burnt the Mercedes Benz.
Edo State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Henry Benamaisia, confirmed the incident.
Please let’s pray for the eternal repose of the souls of these kids, and for fortitude for their families to bear the great loss.
They’ll be greatly missed.
