Sometimes, we look around and wonder whether God truly sees what we are going through. We pray, we struggle, we wait, and at times, the silence feels overwhelming. Yet today’s celebration reminds us of a beautiful truth: God never abandons His children.
The Church gives us the Memorial of the Holy Guardian Angels, reminding us that God, in His loving providence, gives His angels to guide and protect us. The Psalmist says, “For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways” (Psalm 91:11).
In today’s Gospel, Jesus places a child before His disciples and teaches them about humility, innocence and dependence on God. He declares that their angels continually behold the face of the Father (Matthew 18:10).
This is more than a comforting thought. It is an invitation to trust.
There may be dangers we never see, battles we never know we escaped, and moments when God’s protection operates quietly around us. Our guardian angel does not replace our responsibility to choose what is right; rather, God’s angels point us toward His presence and help us remain faithful.
Today, therefore, let us not be afraid of tomorrow. Let us surrender our worries to God and walk courageously in faith.
Perhaps the help you have been praying for is already working in ways you cannot see.
Prayer:
Holy Guardian Angel, guide my steps, protect me from evil, strengthen me in moments of temptation, and lead me closer to Christ. Help me to listen to God’s voice and remain faithful to His will. Amen.
Today’s reminder: You may feel alone, but you are never forgotten by God.
