Sapele Oghenek a news outlet on facebook reported that about an hour ago, residents of Sapele, Delta State took to the streets to protest against the extension of the lockdown by two weeks ordered by the Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa.
Women and children were seen holding branches and chanting solidarity songs expressing displeasure
The protesters were addressed by Honourable Eugene Inoaghan, who assured them that relief packages will be distributed
However, the peaceful protest soon escalated and police officers had to fire tear gas to disperse the crowd.
