There’s a reason pictures and videos go viral. They capture moments — moments that evoke the most powerful emotions in us, in ways we can seldom describe.
So treasure moments. The real ones, the ones that make it into videos and pictures. Yes, treasure them. Five years from now, you’ll look at them and smile, or cry.
It’s a blessed moment when you sit together as a family, eating and laughing. Treasure that. It’s also a blessed moment when there’s shouting and quarreling, for even these can lead to deeper understanding.
Live the moments — even the not-so-good ones. Treasure the meal times, the fun times, the sad times, the hard times. Treasure them all.
Ten years from now, if you truly lived them, those pictures will already be ingrained in your memory. Whether or not you took photos or videos won’t matter. What will matter most is how those moments made you feel.
It’s okay to capture moments in pictures and videos. But these can only ever be complements. There’s only one way to truly capture a moment — and that’s to fully live it.
