Tuesday of the Twenty-second week in Ordinary Time. Year II. 1 Cor.2:10-16; Ps.144; Luke 4:31-37
St Paul makes a difference between the spirit of the world, and the Spirit of God. The spirit of the world can only lead to meaningless arguments and engender a disposition that sees Godly things as nonsense. But the Spirit of God reaches the depths of everything; even the depths of God. Wow! We’re such lucky people, for we have the Spirit of God in us. We have no excuse not to be able to judge the value of everything, seeking only that which edifies.
Friends, Jesus taught with so much authority because He is God, and He is one with the Spirit. Little wonder then that evil spirits recognised him, and they could only cower in his presence. May the Spirit of God in us lead us to discern negative spirits and negative influences in our lives, and with our constant reception of Holy Communion, and frequent trips to the Sacrament of Reconciliation, may these negativities be nullified in us, Amen.
Good morning dear. God bless your day ahead. Welcome to the Month of September!
