As at 10:30pm Friday, 3rd April, 2020, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) reported twenty new confirmed cases of the Coronavirus in Nigeria with eleven cases in
Lagos, three in the Federal Capital Territory, three in Edo, two in Osun and one in Ondo
Ondo first case is reported to be a military officer who just returned from India.
Lagos and Edo state recorded two new deaths.
The 55 year old patient who died in Lagos University Teaching Hospital returned from Holland two weeks ago after a follow up of a renal transplant.
At LUTH, he presented with malaise, tremors and fevers and was sent to the spill over unit because the beds were full.
And when he was asked, he denied that he had been out of the country or being in contact with someone who had and failed to mention having a cough, joint pains, or diarrhoea.
This changed when his condition detoriated and he was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease and sepsis. Following his findings, he was confronted by the Senior registrar.
The patient died soon after and was subjected to a COVID-19 test posthumously to which he tested positive.
As at the time of this report, the situation of the pandemic in Nigeria is now 210 confirmed cases, twenty-five discharged and four deaths
