Hello there! Are you a creative writer? Do you have a short story you want the world to see? This opportunity is JUST for you.

To qualify, aspiring contestants must write a creative story (not more than 1000 words), that’ll reflect the current “State of the Nation, and the struggle of young Nigerians seeking greener pastures”.

We love story tellers and we want the world to hear your voice. What are you waiting for? Register today and submit that short story, and 100,000 naira could be yours.

RULES

  • Any Nigerian can apply (no age and sex restrictions).
  • To register, contestants MUST pay a non refundable fee of N 5,000 only, to Kuda Bank Account – 2006345787 – Kevin Oselumhense Anetor, and send proof of payment to WhatsApp number + 234 8113105843.
  • The piece of creative writing MUST be a creative short story, not an essay.
  • The story MUST be original; written by the contestant.
  • Stolen content or stories written by proxy will be summarily disqualified without refunds.
  • Contestants can only submit one story, under their own names.
  • The name of the author of each story must not appear anywhere in the main body of the work.
  • The Name of the author with a short bio should be sent in the same mail that has the STORY as an ATTACHMENT.
  • Again, for the sake of clarity, please do not include your name in the body of your STORY.
  • While the story itself and A PORTRAIT must be sent as an attachment, the short bio should be in the body of the mail itself.
  • The shot bio and a portrait of the author will enable us match submissions with their writers.
  • For the sake of clarity, please do not send multiple mails. One mail should contain your PORTRAIT, STORY (as attachments), and your short bio (in the body of the mail itself).
  • Judges will receive submitted stories without names of authors.
  • The story itself MUST be submitted as an ATTACHED DOCUMENT in MICROSOFT WORD FORMAT.
  • The story may be less, but MUST not be more than 1000 words.
  • Submitted stories MUST be typed in the “Times New Roman”, with font size 14, and double spaced.
  • All stories MUST be sent to fadakaysworld@gmail.com.

COMPETITION SCHEDULE

  • Deadline for all submissions is August 15, 2021.
  • Long list of 20 top stories (October 1st 2021) by judges.
  • Short list of 10 top stories (October 5th, 2021) by judges
  • The 10 top stories will be published on our official website fadakay.org on October 5th 2021.
  • Final list of 3 winners will be announced on October 11, 2021.
