Today’s Gospel reminds us that following Christ is not about choosing the easiest path; it is about choosing the right path.
Jesus tells us, “Strive to enter by the narrow door.” This is a powerful invitation to live our faith with courage, commitment, and perseverance. The narrow door may not always be comfortable. It may demand forgiveness when we have been hurt, honesty when lies seem easier, generosity when selfishness is tempting, and faithfulness when we feel discouraged.
Christianity is more than a name we bear or a church we attend. It is a way of life. The question is not simply, “Do I know Jesus?” but, “Does my life show that I belong to Him?”
Sometimes we may discover that we have been standing at the door but have not truly entered. We pray, but refuse to forgive. We worship, but neglect the poor. We speak about God, but allow hatred, pride, corruption, or injustice to control our hearts.
Today, Christ calls us to conversion.
The good news is that it is never too late to turn back. God’s door of mercy remains open to those who sincerely seek Him. Every act of love, every sincere repentance, every sacrifice for goodness, and every step of faith brings us closer to Him.
As we journey through life, may we not choose the broad road simply because many people are walking on it. May we have the courage to choose Christ—even when the road is narrow.
Lord, strengthen our hearts to walk faithfully with You and lead us through the narrow door into the fullness of Your Kingdom. Amen.
