Tuesday of the Twelfth Week in Ordinary Time. Year II. Reflection by Rev Fr Oselumhense Anetor (Uromi Diocese)

2 Kings 19:9-11,14-21,31-36; Matt. 7:6,12-14

The thing about heaven is that it’s not that easy to get into. But it’s where we all want to end up, by God’s grace. We’re so selfish sometimes, we never treat others the way we want to be treated. Once it’s not about our good, we hardly give a hoot. This is not the Christian’s attitude. Only the Christian way can get us directly to God’s abode.

We cannot go through the wide and spacious way of ease and comfort and expect to get to heaven. It’s the narrow gate and the hard road of self denial and selflessness that leads to life; only a few find it. We must appreciate God’s kingdom among us more, and do everything in our power to advance it here on earth; even if it means letting go of whatever prevents us from God’s path. Friends, do we want to make heaven? Time to do some slim fitting!

Good morning dear, God bless your day ahead.
