I did tell you to anticipate the cover I did with Ese and Sonic Star, for the Esan Classic Lenten Song “Oran ni Kristi da yu (The cross on which Christ died).
I remember this song from when I was a little child, and frankly I don’t know the original composer.
We have rendered all four verses in Esan and English, so that our non Esan speaking friends can sing along with us.
And you know the interesting part? You get to download the solemn and the not so solemn versions.
You’ll find that the first rendition is with simple accompaniment, more suitable for the lenten season, while the latter has a more elaborate use of instrumentals, more appropriate for use at other times of the year.
Remember, Jesus Christ died for you and for me.
