The NCDC took to its twitter account to announce that the headline making rounds with claims that N1 billion has been spent on SMS to Nigerians is FALSE
The NCDC further stated that this is an in-kind support by the telecommunication companies—Airtel Nigeria, MTN NG and Glo World—in Nigeria as a key contribution to the novel Coronavirus pandemic response strategy.
It is important that in the fight against this pandemic that unverified news is not circulated as it promotes panic and detrimental decisions.
