Thursday of the Fourth Week of Easter. Reflection by Rev Fr Oselumhense Anetor (Uromi Diocese)

Acts 13:13-25; John 13:16-20

Perhaps the reason many of us Christians drift about in the world, without any major sense of purpose is because we don’t know our salvation history. When Paul was asked to address the congregation at Antioch in Pisidia today, he reminded them of their salvation history; how God chose Israel, led them to Canaan, gave them judges, prophets, Kings, and finally a Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Friends, this is also our salvation history. Without this history, we have no future. Let us seek everyday then, to embrace Jesus Christ anew by listening to those who remind us of this salvation history. As we listen, let us rediscover our capacity to hold God’s word in our hearts. Whoever welcomes these Apostles, welcomes Jesus Christ Himself, and whoever welcomes Jesus Christ, welcomes the Father. Let the welcoming begin! It’s a new day!

Good morning dear. God bless your day ahead…
